Australian Institute of Sport Following a very successful podium finish at Round 2 of the Australian Formula Ford Championship at Winton Raceway, Jack jetted off to Canberra for a weeklong camp at the Australian Institute of Sport where he was put through his paces during the fitness testing at the famous facility. Jack was fortunate to meet and work with some great people at the camp including FPR Team Engineer Matt Nilsson, FPR Trainer Glenn Lindsay, Sports Psychologist Noel Blundell, Media & Sponsorship Trainer Phil Lynch, Shawn Graetz/CAMS regarding Drugs in Sport, John Bruning/CAMS & Simon Lakeman/CAMS regarding Road Safety and many of Australia’s best motorsport athletes.

“The week was great and to be able to meet and have the chance to catch up with some people who are right in the mix of Australian Motorsport was a great opportunity. I also really enjoyed both the theory and the physical side of the camp. The Trainers definitely put me through my paces this year and to wake up sore the next morning, you know it was a hard day! But that’s what it’s all about and I love that feeling because you know you have really pushed yourself to the limit!”

Jack trained 5 hours a day completing many challenging training circuits and exhausting cardio work outs over the week he was in Canberra. He also attended sessions regarding sports psychology, nutrition, media & sponsorship, drugs in sport and road safety. Jack has one more training camp later in the year with Phil Young and Glenn Lindsay at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast.

Jack is now busily preparing for round 3 of the Australian Formula Ford Championship at Eastern Creek on 15-17th July. This weekend (17-19th June) he will be travelling to Eastern Creek to race in the NSW State Round to get some valuable testing miles under his belt.

Jack would like to thank Lucas Docking for organising the Camp and the AMSF and Australian Sports Commission for the opportunity to attend the AIS Camp.
